Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 August 2026

Velnotech ("Velnotech", "we", "us" or "our") operates the website velnotech.com and sells mobile accessories and wireless audio products across India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights available to you. It applies to every visitor, registered customer and guest purchaser of our website.

We have written this policy in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to us at support@velnotech.com and we will explain it.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Identity and contact details: name, email address, mobile number, billing address and shipping address.
  • Order information: the products you buy, order value, delivery preferences and any instructions you add at checkout.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your login credentials and saved addresses.
  • Communications: the content of emails, chat messages, warranty claims and support tickets you send us, including any photographs or videos you share to support a claim.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have subscribed to our newsletter and how you respond to it.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and connection data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, screen size and language settings.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, products viewed, time spent, referring website, search terms used on our site, and the path you take through the store.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: described in section 6 below.

Information we do not collect

We never see or store your complete card number, CVV, card PIN, UPI PIN, net banking password or any other payment credential. When you pay, you are handed over to a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway which processes those details on its own secure infrastructure. All we receive back is a transaction reference, the payment status, the amount and, at most, the last four digits and card network of the instrument used.

2. How we use your information

Purpose What this means in practice
Fulfilling your order Processing payment, packing and dispatching goods, sharing your name, address and phone number with our courier partner, and sending order and tracking updates.
Customer support Answering questions, handling returns, replacements and warranty claims, and verifying that a claim relates to a genuine purchase.
Fraud prevention Detecting suspicious transactions, repeated fraudulent return attempts and misuse of promotional codes.
Legal compliance Maintaining tax and accounting records, responding to lawful requests from authorities, and meeting obligations under Indian law.
Improving our store Understanding which products and pages perform well so that we can improve the catalogue and the buying experience.
Marketing Sending offers, launch announcements and restock alerts — only if you have opted in, and only until you opt out.

3. Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent needed:

  • Payment gateways — to authorise and settle your payment, and to process refunds.
  • Logistics and courier partners — your name, delivery address and phone number, so that your parcel can be delivered and so the courier can call you.
  • Technology providers — our e-commerce platform, email service, analytics tools and customer support software, each of which processes data strictly on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers — accountants and legal advisers, where required.
  • Government and law enforcement — where disclosure is required by law, court order or a valid regulatory request.

If Velnotech is ever transferred, merged or acquired, customer information may pass to the new owner. You will be notified by email before that happens and the new owner will remain bound by this policy.

4. Data storage, security and retention

Your data is stored on servers operated by our technology providers, which may be located in India or abroad. Where data is processed outside India, we ensure the provider offers protections comparable to those described here.

We protect your information using industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across the entire website, access controls limiting staff access to what each role genuinely needs, and payment processing that is fully outsourced to PCI-DSS certified gateways.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. What we can promise is that if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will inform you and the relevant authorities promptly and tell you what we are doing about it.

We keep order and transaction records for as long as required under Indian tax and accounting law, currently eight years. Marketing data is deleted once you unsubscribe. Support correspondence is retained for three years so that we can honour warranty claims.

5. Your rights

  • Access — ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your data, subject to records we are legally required to retain.
  • Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to us.
  • Object or restrict — ask us to stop or limit a particular use of your data.
  • Complain — raise a concern with our Grievance Officer, whose details are below.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@velnotech.com from the address associated with your order. We respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act, to make sure we are not disclosing your data to someone else.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them for four purposes:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — keep you logged in, remember your cart contents and secure the checkout. The site cannot function without these.
  • Preference cookies — remember your language and display choices.
  • Analytics cookies — tell us, in aggregate, which pages and products people engage with.
  • Marketing cookies — allow us to show relevant advertising and to measure whether a campaign worked.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. If you block strictly necessary cookies, checkout and cart functionality will stop working. We do not use cookies to identify you personally beyond what is described in this policy.

7. Children

Our store is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Third-party links

Our website may link to other sites, for example a courier's tracking page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies before sharing information with them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The revision date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page, and by email if you have an account with us.
